February 10th - Farm Bureau Scholarship Due - for those students majoring in agriculture/home economics OR planning to attend technical school OR for those who parents are a member of Farm Bureau.

 

February 11th - Barksdale Federal Credit Union Scholarship Due. Must be a Barksdale Federal member, 2.0 gpa, and a minimum ACT of 18.

 

February 16th - Shell Minority Scholarship for any senior with an interest in the petrochemical fields

February 25th - Beaulieau Scholarship Due - for those students living in the Weston School District

 

The Legislative Scholarship Program provides a full year scholarship to Tulane to a senior meeting eligibility requirements.  See Mrs. Hay for details.  Deadline March 1st.

 

March 1st -  AHEC applications due for those who are 15 years old or older and interested in pursuing a health career - Great Program!

 

March 5th - Robert C. Byrd Scholarship due  - come by my office to get an application.  Must have a 3.5 gpa and a 23 on ACT.

 

Horatio Alger Scholarship - apply between Jan. 15 - April 15 - apply online at www.horatioalger.org

 

Louisiana Middle School Assoc. Scholarship for those interested in majoring in education.  Deadline is April 9th.  See Mrs. Hay for an application.

 

Nelnet Scholarships - apply once a month at www.nelnet.net/collegeplanning

 

Lela Scholarships - apply @ www.lela.org

 

 *  If you are planning to play sports at any 4 year college or community college, you must register with the NCAA - www.ncaa.org

*  All Males 18 or older have to register with Selective Service.  Go to www. sss.gov

 

Summer Job

The LA Lions Camp is now accepting apps for summer staff positions. Must be between 16 - 18 years of age.  Go to www.lionscamp.org.  Great organization!

 

FAFSA

 

A reminder to all Seniors to start filling out their FAFSA application.  They are encouraging you to apply online.  If you need additional information, please let me know.  EVERY SENIOR MUST COMPLETE THE FAFSA!

 

Also, for any senior that gets approved for a scholarship, please let me know in order for it to be announced at graduation.
